Fun, Lightning talk and BoF at Akademy :)
It was an awesome trip to Akademy 2012. Had lots of fun during travelling as well as at Akademy. The fun started early on when I started meeting fellow contributors at Helsinki airport during transit. Call it the KBus - we all came together in bus from airport to the pre-registration event :D
Next day, we had keynote, talks and GSoC student lightning talks. Even I gave a lightning talk on Plasma Media Center (PMC) which included brief overview of PMC features and future work. Thanks to Lydia and fellow contributors who helped me in giving the presentation.
I was happy that people liked the PMC work and wanted to help in its improvement in different ways. Interest got reflected during the PMC BoF which was held on Thursday. With the ideas and suggestion from the participants, various improvement have been identified in PMC. Here’s few snapshots showing the outcome:-
Looking forward to implement all the suggestions I got provided. I have updated the summary of PMC BoF on wiki page too.
I still need more feedback and suggestion. Your suggestion will lead PMC to perfection and more usable by common people. So, if you have any kind of suggestion related to PMC , put it here. I will be the most happiest person to implement it.

plasma media center some considerations
ok in one word:
it sucks,
it could be rude but ... i mean it doesn't do the job well it's not pratical and has few features
ok it's a young project with few devs and all but ....i would really look at unity tv that is made on qt from canonical ....
i am saying this because the code that is been released from canonical could be useful and if it is not welll at least the ideas could

Ok, so firstly, porting existing unity tv code to PMC would me much more time taking than using what we already have in KDE.
Then, for ideas, we have lots of them and we are growing, one more person joined the PMC project last week and made some improvements. So, while you spent so much time to type, kindly spend that on making constructive suggestions :)

It *is* rude. Those people have put quite some effort in this project and getting such painful feedback is a sure way to unmotivate them. I was at the Plasma Media Center session and I can tell you that:
a) While Plasma Media Center may need some work, it does not suck
b) Sinny and Shantanu are opened to constructive remarks and suggestions, which makes me confident the next version will actually rock

Sounds like PMC is steaming ahead and that you have a bunch of useful suggestions. It would be awesome to a see an updated video with the current state of PMC. This would also make it easier to comment on what's great and what could be even better. :)
